SNUC® Continues Global Expansion with Opening of European Union Office

We at SNUC are proud to announce that our European office, out of Dunleer, Republic of Ireland, is now officially open.

Publication date – 10/30/2020

We at SNUC are proud to announce that our European office, out of Dunleer, Republic of Ireland, is now officially open.

At SNUC we have grown a great deal in the past five years and while the journey began with our first office in Round Rock, Texas, we have always ambitiously sought to explore new opportunities wherever they can be found. In 2018 we opened an office in Bangor, Northern Ireland, which has served as a pivotal production location in the UK, to expand our charter to a global company. The addition of our latest office in Dunleer, is an essential part of our growth strategy to serve all of Europe, and helps us move closer to our mission to be the world’s leading technology partner for customized mini computer experiences.

The expansion of the mini PC market worldwide in the past ten years has been well documented. Companies that are finding the most traction are those that find a way to provide both unique integrated solutions while still keeping the highest in production and quality standards. SNUC has found a great deal of success in expanding markets such as digital signage, classroom collaboration, industrial computers, and edge servers.

“As the name and reputation of SNUC have become more and more known, primarily due to our customer focused mentality, we’ve been fortunate to experience accelerated growth year over year along with consistent demand,” says Jonny Smith, CEO of SNUC, Ltd.  “This success made it clear that we needed to find a way to continue the journey of growth into all of Europe, while still being able to keep up with the demands of our growing clients and partner base in the UK.”

The opening of the Dunleer office is the next step in that journey to becoming the world’s leading technology partner for customized mini computer experiences with uncompromised quality, stability, support, and performance. This facility provides us the ability to continue to ramp up production as the same meticulous standards of our other facilities, while expanding not only our reach into Europe, but the world at large.

If you have any specific questions about the Dunleer office (or would like to learn more) please feel free to reach out to Jonny Smith.

SNUC® Pioneers a New Class of Commercial & Industrial-Grade Mini PCs

SNUC sought to extend its significant success in the consumer Mini PC market onward to commercial and industrial applications

SNUC Pioneers a New Class of Commercial and Industrial-Grade Mini PCs with Help from AMD Ryzen™ Embedded SoCs. — Case Study

CHALLENGE:

SNUC sought to extend its significant success in the consumer Mini PC market onward to commercial and industrial applications, where long-lifecycle product support and supply longevity are critical factors.

SOLUTION:
AMD Ryzen™ Embedded SoCs enabled SNUC to develop a ‘Long-Life Mini’ product portfolio that its customers in the embedded computing domain can count on for up to seven years. Customers also benefit from AMD Radeon™ – caliber  graphics performance and advanced multi-display flexibility.

RESULTS:
AMD is helping SNUC scale its product portfolio to new heights with pincompatible AMD Ryzen™ Embedded R1000 and V1000 SoCs, while benefitting from an open ecosystem of AMD based motherboards and complementary components.

AMD’s long-lifecycle embedded processor enables SNUC to penetrate new markets while offering excellent graphics and multi-display capabilities.

The Mini PC market has shown tremendous promise since its inception, fueled by growing awareness for the many advantages Mini PCs provide compared to bulky tower PC platforms. Featuring a dramatically smaller form factor and extreme computing versatility – with little to no compromises in functionality, performance and/or power efficiency – Mini PCs are poised for wide adoption across a host of target applications. When customers hold these ultra-compact, half liter-sized devices in the palms of their hands, the choice between Mini PCs and tower PCs is an easy one to make.

The founders of SNUC (www.simplynuc.com) were among the first to recognize the tremendous market opportunity for Mini PCs and has emerged as one of the leading Mini PC providers in the United States and Europe, achieving a staggering 476% revenue growth rate in a span of just two years. SNUC was also among the first Mini PC providers to look beyond the consumer market where Mini PCs gained their initial traction, sensing the strong potential for Mini PC adoption in embedded applications including digital signage, enterprise collaboration and conferencing, edge computing, industrial and far beyond.

To effectively penetrate these markets, however, SNUC would need to ensure longer product support lifecycles than what’s typically needed for consumer-grade Mini PCs. A two to three-year lifecycle simply isn’t enough for customers in commercial and industrial domains looking to avoid frequent, expensive qualification cycles. These customers need assurances that they can deploy Mini PCs for long periods of time, and in many cases, in harsh environmental conditions where wear and tear would compromise a consumer grade device.

James’ Story

Meet James, an 11-year-boy like any other, yet just as unique as any.

Lumo play interactive floor

Here at SNUC we strive to bring technological solutions to all points and places in life. From the office to the home we seek to make a difference.

But then there are moments when even we are surprised and proud of the impact one of our solutions can have.

Meet James, an 11-year-boy like any other, yet just as unique as any.

His father emailed us and shared this simple and moving story and graciously offered for us to share it.

“We have a 11-year-old boy, James who has special needs and a rare genetic condition.  He is nonverbal.

We have been using Lumo play for a while and it has been magical for James development. It captures his attention immediately with the interactive floor set up. Each game provides a different experience, but they all encourage his hand to eye coordination and motor skills. For us as parents it’s amazing to see his enjoyment at interacting and achieving a response from his physical movements.

The setup of the equipment is so straight forward. We have the projector mounted in the ceiling and connected to the NUC box which runs the Lumo software. The NUC box is so compact and unobtrusive but packs a punch to power the motion detection from the connected camera.

We are so delighted with the setup and software and it’s such a revelation that this works so well encouraging James capabilities.”

We are both honored and inspired to know the difference the LUMOplay solution has made in James’ life.
